I really like how Usagi gets to have a conversation with her past self in this episode.
Princess Serenity is so overwhelmed with grief and despair that she has completely lost hope in both being able to be with Endymion, and in the fate of the planet.
But Usagi has a much brighter, hopeful attitude. While she knows it will be hard, and that she has faced lots of struggles along the way, she’s not willing to give up so easily. And here, it’s sort of like she’s comforting her past self, and trying to instill hope in her again.
